Whole Foods Gluten Free Chocolate Cupcakes

If you look around this blog long enough, you will notice that I have an obsession with cupcakes. I adore them. The only thing that would win over a cupcake is an eclair. About a month ago (yes, that is how much of a blog-slacker I have been lately) I tried out these cupcakes from Whole Foods with my friend Ashley, who is not gluten free.

The Review:

These prepackaged cupcakes are found in the freezer section at your local Whole Foods market. Because they are frozen, they need to be microwaved for a little bit first. My first attempt was a total fail...
As you can see from the photo above, the fail is the cupcake on the right. It was cooked too long! We still ate it and it was still good. I think it was in there for 30 seconds. The one on the left was cooked for 12 seconds and it was delicious as well. The frosting is rich and decadent. These cupcakes are awesome and filling. They do not taste chalk like and they do not make you feel deprived. I would eat these again, however the calorie count is high, so it wouldn't be a regular staple in my diet.

The Stats:

Serving size: 1 cupcake
Calories: 470
Total Fat: 24 grams
Total Carbs: 64 grams
Sugars:47 grams
Protein: 5grams

I've been wanting to try these for *so* long, but really can't justify buying them. I'm one girl. And those are four gigantic amazing looking cupcakes. Even though those things are frozen, I cant imagine that I'd end up eating them slowly enough to make them live safely in my freezer.

Guess, I'll have to live vicariously through your adventerousness! Thanks for trying them!!

Dana-

Enormous was right! I split it most of the time! My son loved these too! They were so delicious! I dont think they would refreeze well.

I haven't had them yet. I have had some other things from the Whole Foods gluten-free freezer that I wasn't really thrilled about, so I've been reluctant to try more. Thanks for the review! I can stop feeling scared.

400 calories? That's a whole meal! I can just skip the other courses;)

Gina- Yeah I know. I skipped meals just to eat these! It was so worth it though they were orgasmic!
