I am addicted to pretzels

*I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. The opinions are completely  based on my experience. My opinions are honest and unbiased.*

I have a rather stupid confession. I can not be trusted with GF pretzels. I will devour the bag of pretzels without a second thought. In the last two months, Glutino sent me two types of Preztles and the bag was eaten in one sitting. That freaking good. Last week, I purchased a few bags and one was eaten on the way home and the other, I begrudging shared with my son. I did not want to share.

I love that Glutino offers a variety of pretzels.

Last month, I was all about the Peppermint Yogurt Pretzels.
These pretzels reminded me of Christmas as soon as I tasted them. You know how certain things (smells, places, etc) remind you of other things? Well, these did that to me. As soon and I bit my fist pretzel, I felt like it was Christmas even though AZ has no snow or anything that remotely screams "Winter Wonderland" but these made the season feel more real. They were delish and I enjoyed them while watching Christmas movies with my family. I purchased a few bags to make Christmas feel longer!

I also really enjoyed the Honey Mustard Pretzels. They are totally different than the peppermint ones. The peppermint ones are obviously sweet. These were salty and hit the spot. I was really nice and shared with everyone and no one could tell they were gluten free. That is how you know you have a winner, when no one can taste a difference.  The honey mustard taste was not overpowering at all. It was seasoned perfectly. I totally recommend them.

Udi's Cranberry Almond Bars

I have a hard time picking easy, portable, mess-free snacks for my diaper bag. I like Luna Bars but it isn't cost effective to purchase them often enough to have them stashed in my diaper bag. I am too cheap. I like boxes that come with a few bars and don't break our bank account.

I had no idea Udi's had granola bars.  I really like their Cranberry Almond. It is convient to stash a few in there for when I get hungry and I need something to nosh on. They are very tasty and can usually tide me over till my next meal.  These have become a pantry staple for us.

When Is a good time for a Whenever Bar? Whenever!

Pamela's Products has a new line called Whenever Bars and they are delicious. I was so relieved to have them one morning at my desk at work, because they saved me in a jam when I neglected to eat breakfast, that I even tweeted my thanks.

There are four varieties, Oat Blueberry Lemon, Oat Chocolate Chip Coconut, Oat Cranberry Almond,  Oat Raisin Walnut Spice. I have tried all four varieties and I like specific things about each one.

Oat Blueberry Lemon: I specifically like this flavor for breakfast. It compliments tea very well. I often enjoyed this in the car. Sad that I am so busy, but I guess they are called Whenever Bars for a reason!

Oat Chocolate Chip Coconut: This flavor was my favorite! It was as though I was eating dessert!

Oat Cranberry Almond:  I also enjoyed this one as a breakfast treat. I kept this variety in my purse for GF emergencies. If I couldn't find a place to eat or if I went to a restaurant and they did not have a gf friendly option on the menu that I liked, I knew I could eat a Whenever Bar and I would be ok!

Oat Raisin Walnut Spice: This flavor reminded me of Autumn. It tasted really delicious and made me excited for the upcoming season.

I really like the new line and I hope you guys do too! Let me know what you guys think of it!

Lucy's Chocolate Chip Cookies

I had a snack sized bag of Lucy's at my desk at work. I thought it would be the perfect afternoon snack...I was somewhat mistaken. These were not the delicious chocolate chip mouth explosion I was hoping for. Instead, my mouth was "treated" to a grainy,remotely-bearable,  cookie that had to suffice because there was nothing else at my disposal at work to replace it.

Harsh? Maybe. But, hey...now that I have been GF for a long while, I have standards. I would eat these again? But, I would not spend my hard earned cash on them. These would be eaten on the rare occasion that I had nothing else at hand and I really needed a cookie fix.

Kind Bars

I am always trying new snack bars. I go through phases where I think I found my snack bar "soul mate" and that I will never eat another brand, but then I cheat...right now, I am having a serious love affair with Kind Bars. Why? Because Kind Bars treat me so well. I have tried a variety of kind bars and right now, these are the ones I am really digging...
Do you guys like Kind Bars? If so, which is your favorite one?

Pop Chips

I am always on the hunt for great office snacks or additions to my packed lunch (see this past post if you need help). I am becoming a big fan of POP Chips. They are a snack that are rather low in calories, full of flavor and they usually satisfy me until I make it home. I have found that out of the varieties that I have tried, the BBQ is my favorite.

Which is your favorite POP Chip favorite?

My go to snack!

It is hard to find a refreshing snack that is healthy and easy to eat on the go. I often find my self turning to frozen grapes. They are low in calorie, they make me feel like I am cheating since they taste sinful, and they are easily transportable.
This is from this past weekend. I are some frozen grapes for breakfast at the pool! Delicious!
Often, I will take them in the car if I am strapped for time and I don't want to hit a fast food drive through. Also, living in Arizona, the weather is pretty hot already. These are like a little frozen treat for my mouth.

Do you guys like frozen grapes?

Jo-Sef Products O Cookies:

Sharing snacks with Jacob is rare since only I am gluten free. Lately, I have been taking Jo-Sef Chocolate Animal Crackers and Vanilla Animal crackers and mixing them in a small bowl for us to share. It is nice to get to share snacks with him! We get to not only share snacks but little moments together. It is really special.

Mary's Gone Cackers

Mary's Gone Crackers herb crackers have been my go to snack/lunch for the past two days. I have been stashing them in a small bag in  my purse for when I get hungry. This was my amazing lunch yesterday:
That is Mary's Gone Crackers Herb Flavor with cream cheese and lox. It was quick and delicious.

I have also eaten it with cream cheese and turkey pepperoni. I love having more snack options and sharing them with my readers!

Have you guys tried Mary's Gone Cracker's? Did you know that Mary herself has a gluten intolerance?!

Surf Sweets Gummy Bears

I am a parent.. I give my kid candy sometimes....I share candy with my kid sometimes...
I found an awesome candy that I don't feel bad about sharing...

SURF SWEETS is amazing! Here is why:
  • GLUTEN FREE/CASEIN FREE!
  • Organic- natural ingredients and juices only
  • No corn syrup
  • Some of the products are vegan or vegetarian
  • Contains 100% vitamin C
So, that is why I eat it. That is why I share. In this case, sharing is caring and I just make sure he brushes his teeth after!

I don't have enough to share with you guys...sorry! It is really delicious! The red one is my favorite...Jacob's too!

My favorite snack at the moment...

About a year ago, I posted my favorite portable snack. This is my favorite snack to eat at home. I sometimes eat it for lunch or dinner too if I am feeling too lazy to cook for myself. I love hummus and cucumbers! It is good for you and you are saving a ton of carbohydrates by not using chips or pita (if we could eat pita).

What is your favorite snack to eat at home?

Lucy's Chocolate Chip Cookies

I found these at Starbucks. They do not have milk, eggs, peanuts, or tree nuts! They also have organic ingredients and they are also vegan...I am sold. I got them after a long day out with Jacob when I failed to pack for a hunger emergency for myself (he is always well prepared, I am sometimes not!) so I gave in and purchased these. They were pretty good. They are not going to be my go to snack but they did the job and kept me satisfied. Plus, it is nice to know that if I am in a bind, I have options at a mainstream place like Starbucks!

Lara Bars

Lara Bar= Goodness. I cant even pretend to go through literary process for these with you. I wont even try to create a rising action and then bring it to the climax when I just want to let you all in on how freaking delicious they are. Oh wait, it gets even better. They are all natural. They are also suitable for raw eaters, vegans, kosher folks, soy free people, the gluten free like me, and the dairy intolerant. Yes, they work for us all. Why? Because they only consist of fruits and nuts, so unless you are allergic to those ingredients, you can indulge!

The Cherry Pie flavor actually tasted like a cherry pie and it cost less monetarily and calorie wise than one slice of pie would! Whoo hoo! The Apple Pie one was also really delicious. I was really pleased.

I no longer have the wrappers, so I cant post the nutritonal information like I normally would. Trust me, worth every bite :)

I guess I cant finish this with out some sort of resolution or call to action...

Have you tried Lara Bars? If so, let me know what you think and which type you tried and liked!

Thanks Starbucks for thinking of the Gluties like me!

I was counting down the days until the launch of STARBUCKS: GLUTEN FREE VALENCIA ORANGE CAKE! Today was the big unavailing! I checked twitter to see the chatter, a friend told me her Starbucks wasn't carrying it until tomorrow. I decided to call the closest location to me and they had three left! I was happy that the gluten free community was gobbling these goodies up! We want Starbucks to know that we not only exist; but that we have needs that have to be met!

We walked to Starbucks and I was so happy to see that they still had two when I arrived! See the joy on my face...
My son just wants his drink!
Then it was time for the moment of truth, could Starbucks create a fabulous gluten free dessert?

YES! A BIG YES!!! It was moist, and spongy. It reminded me of the orange version of the lemon pound cake that I loved in my pre-gluten free days! I was in gluten free heaven! The glutton in me was satisfied! Oh Starbucks you won me over, I was skeptical.

ADDITIONAL THINGS I LIKED:
It came prepackaged and it was not in the same case! So I felt like cross contamination was not something to worry about. I also liked that the ingredients and the nutritional information was listed on the packaging!

Normally when we walk, I wear different shoes. I should stick to routine because I got massive blisters that bled. This was so worth it!

Yup, that is blood!

One of my favorite healthy snacks!

Nuts are healthy in moderation and raisins are loaded with antioxidants. I have a large zip-lock bag mixed with raisins and almonds. When I am not eating something yummy to review for the blog and I have a sweet tooth, I grab a handful and indulge! It is the perfect snack and it is good for you too!
